The Midnight Seas

Each passing day a fable will be told to a young child.  We have heard them all from Jack and Jill to the Loch Ness Monster.  As young children we wish and daydream of these all being true.  Every lake you see in your days you ponder for a moment.  Is this the lake that holds the Loch Ness?  Or as you and your friends going camping for the weekend, you glance towards the woods and wonder.  Is Bigfoot lurking beyond the trees?  There is a new fable being told, but many say it is true.  A young lady who was trained by her father who was a Shogun Assassin, he trained her in the art of stealth and the art of swordplay.  She became one of the most deadly females in the world.  But she had another gift, another dark secret.  It is a legendary story or fairy tale some would say.

One night deep out off the coast of New York City was a boat called the Mandalorian.  On this boat is a young lady along with a few fishermen and crew of the Mandalorian.  Her name is Amaya Itto.  She is a deadly, yet beautiful young woman.  She is very proficient in the art of the Katana.  She can take one slice of her blade before you even blink your eyes.   But she has not out on the seas looking for bloodshed.  She is looking for something else, something of bedtime stories.  A giant squid, one so big it would destroy ships like the Titanic in one breath.  She can feel the beast out in the water; she can sense he is near.  She doesn’t know how it can be; she just knows it is nearing her ship.  Many of the crew members are very frighten and say the squid will kill them all.  She is not scared like these weak men.  She doesn’t fear this myth of the sea.  She has an unusual connection to this creature, she cannot explain it.  A massive wave slams into the boat many of the crew fall to the deck.  They can’t believe a wave like that came out of nowhere.  A few of the crew look over the boat to see if it was a sunken ship that they hit.  They see nothing.  Than out of the water tentacles emerge.  These tentacles grab each man and throws them towards the darkness of the sea.  They scream in agony, knowing death awaits them as the splash into the icy water.  Everyone else on the ship looks over at these huge tentacles throwing these men to their deaths.  Many of the remaining crew gazes in horror.  Amaya looks upon this sight with a slight grin.  She knows now the beast has arrived.  Two tentacles slam down onto the bow of the boat, the wood floorboards crackle away.  The remaining crew members jump towards the frozen sea.  They know their lives will be lost to the sea, but it sounds better than getting eating alive by this monstrous beast.  The beast emerges out of the water.  His eyes are intense to see what he has conquered.  Amaya stands near one of the tentacles still on the bow of the boat.  She looks towards the beast.  Their eyes meet and sense each others movements.  She runs up the tentacles towards the back of the beast.  The beast quickly moves off the bow of the boat and out towards the sea.  Amaya and the beast fade away into the blackness of the night sea.  What happened to her?  No one knows exactly what has happened to her.  One thing is for sure she is out there….. She is in control of the beast some say; she is the most feared person out on the waters of mother-earth.  She is out there, she is waiting, one day you will see her….
